Forestry Mulching
There are many benefits of forestry mulching. It offers a fast, efficient and cost-effective method of land clearing that allows you to maximize full use of your land. With the use of specialized forestry mulching equipment, trees, stumps, logs, brush and other vegetation are finely mulched and spread over the area that is being cleared. This eliminates the need for additional hauling or disposal of the mulched material. Forestry mulching promotes optimal soil health and erosion control which is very important here in the Pacific North West where the annual precipitation ranges between 32-140 inches.
The material that remains on the forest floor after forestry mulching acts as a natural ground cover, which protects the soil from erosion caused by natural elements like wind and water. This layer of mulch also helps retain moisture in the soil which reduces water runoff and enhances the soil's fertility and structure. By improving soil health and preventing erosion, forestry mulching supports the long-term sustainability and productivity of the land, making it suitable for various land uses. Some of these land uses may include but are not limited to agriculture, landscaping, recreational trail establishment, reforestation, expansion of structures/buildings and more. Forestry mulching is also a great way to establish wildfire breaks to protect your property and also reduces the environmental impact associated with traditional land clearing methods.
